Ingredientes:
* Chocolate fondant (gracias Joan por traerlo de tu curro)
* Agua.
* Molde para bombones o en mi caso, cubitera de silicona con formas divertidas made in IKEA, funcionan de maravilla y al ser de silicona no se pegan.
Don’t be shy!
Recipes from films
We start with a new section inside the blog “recipes from films” where we will put some recipes related to films. This month we are sweet...We suggest the film “Chocolat”, starred by Juliette Binoche and Johnny Deep. It tells the story of a mother and her daughter that arrive to a small rural French village and in order to make their living, they decided to open a chocolate shop. We won’t say anything else if you haven’t seen it yet.
We’d like to make this section lively, so we encourage you to play with us, sending your recipes (we will be enthusiastic posting them) or any comment or suggestion that you have to this email address: hermanasenlacocina@yahoo.es Ok then. As all was about chocolate, here are our chocolate creations:
Snow Mountain of chocolate
Ingredients:
* 6 eggs
* 175g chocolate for desserts
* 125g butter
* 250g sugar
* 125g flour
* 1 envelope yeast
* Sugar glass
Preparation:
- Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites. Beat the egg whites until light. Reserve.
- Melt the chopped chocolate in the microwave; be careful that it isn’t burning.
- Add butter and sugar to the melted chocolate. Leave it to cool a little and add the egg yolks. Pour this mixture over the egg whites, add flour and yeast. Stir well.
- Place the mixture in a tin cake and put in the oven (preheated at 180º) for 40 minutes.
- Remove from the tin cake and sprinkle with icing sugar to garnish.
The result is a sponge cake, so if you are a sweet tooth it will leave you a good feeling.
Filled chocolate bonbons
In relation to my sister’s proposal of prepare some recipes from films, we entered to the world of chocolate (from the film Chocolat, of course). I chose to prepare bonbons and I was very surprised about how easy and fast they are prepared.
Ingredients:
* Chocolate fondant (thanks Joan for have brought it from your job)
* Water
* Mold for bonbons or like in my case, a silicone ice tray made in fun shapes from IKEA, they work well with the mixture and it’s easy to take it out later.
Preparation:
- Melt the chocolate in a double boiler stirring well until all turns into liquid.
- When it’s ready, helping us with a spoon, cover the mold without filling them completely.
- Put in the freezer for 5 minutes.
- After this time, remove from the freezer and it’s time to fill them. I made three versions: almonds, pistachios and Serrano ham…Yes, yes, you have read it well...I can guarantee you that it’s an exquisite flavor but you can use whatever you want to fill the bonbons. In reference to the film, there’s a moment when they eat meat with chocolate sauce and they seem to be captivated, so this is not the weirdest thing…:-D
- Close the bonbons with the chocolate, spreading well the last layer in order to make the base as smooth as possible.
- Put the mold in the freezer and wait at least for 30 minutes or until time to serve.
- Remove them from the mold.
I hope you try to prepare something with chocolate and tell us about it. All kind of recipes are accepted. Don’t be shy!
